Boisbriand, Québec
In November 2004, Cherokee Canada Inc. in partnership with a Cherokee Investment Partners fund closed on the purchase of the former GM automobile assembly plant located in the city of Boisbriand, Quebec.
The 232-acre property is located at the intersection of Highway 15 and Highway 640, approximately 15 minutes to the north of downtown Montreal. The facility was previously used by GM in the production of Camaro and Firebird cars since the 1960's.
The site is in the process of being redeveloped into a vibrant mixed-use urban lifestyle community that will serve to revitalize the area and form part of the new city centre.
This will include the development of over 1,700 mid and high rise residential units, a lifestyle-oriented retail centre and town centre development containing over 1.2 million square feet of space, and a variety of other commercial uses.
